A mix of native shrubs, subshrubs, grasses and ground-layer plants can provide different root structures while reducing exposed soil.
Drainage comes first
Plants cannot correct a broken drain, concentrated roof runoff or an actively unstable slope. Water should be slowed, spread and managed before it becomes erosive.
