Start with drainage
Concentrated runoff, failed irrigation and unstable soils should be addressed before assuming plants will fix the slope.
Native planting strategy
Use a mix of shrubs, subshrubs and ground-layer plants appropriate to slope aspect, soil and irrigation conditions.
