Yellow or pale-green mosaic patterns on fig leaves can be associated with fig mosaic disease.
Common signs
UC IPM describes distinct yellow mosaic spots, irregular pale-green patches and sometimes leaf deformation. Fruit can also be discolored, misshapen, undersized or less abundant.
Why identification matters
Not every yellow fig leaf has mosaic disease. Irrigation, nutrition, mites and other stressors can create different patterns. Compare multiple leaves and overall tree performance.
Management
UC IPM recommends starting with healthy propagation material and avoiding propagation from symptomatic trees. There is no practical cure for an infected residential fig tree.
