Meyer Lemon Tree for South Orange County
Meyer lemon is one of our favorite productive citrus trees for Southern California home gardens. It produces fragrant blossoms and juicy, slightly sweeter lemons and works well in edible landscapes, courtyards and sunny backyards.
Quick growing profile
- Sun: Full sun for best flowering and fruit production.
- Water: Regular deep watering during establishment; adjust frequency to soil, weather and season.
- Soil: Good drainage is essential. Avoid keeping the root zone chronically saturated.
- Pollination: Self-fruitful; a second tree is not required for fruit.
- Best use: Backyard orchard, edible landscape, patio-area focal tree or productive citrus grouping.
Choose the right size
Smaller containers are easier to establish and shape. Larger box trees provide more immediate landscape presence but require careful handling, irrigation setup and establishment watering.
The Earth People planting approach
We do not simply dig a hole and add fertilizer. We evaluate planting depth, root flare, drainage, surrounding soil, irrigation coverage and the future root zone. Organic inputs are selected for the actual site rather than applied as a one-size-fits-all recipe.
First-year care
Check root-zone moisture regularly, keep mulch away from the trunk, adjust irrigation seasonally and inspect new growth for stress or pest activity. Avoid burying the trunk flare or allowing emitters to keep the trunk constantly wet.
Organic long-term care
Earth People can provide irrigation optimization, organic soil-health programs, nutrition, preventative organic IPM, foliar and soil drenches, pruning guidance and seasonal tree inspections.
Availability & sourcing
Nursery inventory changes frequently. If your preferred size is not currently shown as available, request the tree anyway—we can often source additional specimens through our Southern California nursery network.

Important: Citrus Delivery & HLB Information
Delivery schedule: To keep deliveries efficient and cost-effective, we coordinate citrus deliveries approximately twice monthly, targeting the first and last Friday of each month. Dates are estimates, not guaranteed appointments. Your delivery date is confirmed after nursery stock and routing are verified; orders placed near a route cutoff may move to a subsequent date.
Availability & regulations: Trees are subject to supplier availability and applicable California citrus movement and quarantine requirements. We inspect trees before delivery, but inspection cannot guarantee absence of latent disease or future exposure. Huanglongbing (HLB), also known as citrus greening, is a serious bacterial disease affecting California citrus.
Citrus warranty: Due to disease and growing risks, Earth People LandCare does not offer a voluntary post-delivery citrus tree health or survival warranty. This does not exclude rights or remedies required by applicable law, including any rights relating to the condition of the tree at delivery.
Professional planting and establishment care may be arranged separately. Contact us before ordering if you need a specific delivery date.

We verify stock and plant health, then confirm your selection, pricing and estimated delivery window. No payment is accepted until stock and plant health have been verified. If your selection is unavailable or does not meet our health standards, we discuss suitable alternatives with you before proceeding.
