The Earth People mission

A healthier planet begins in the ground we care for.

Soil is not simply something plants stand in. It is a living community of roots, fungi, bacteria, insects and organic matter. When we protect and improve its function, we create better conditions for plants to thrive and landscapes to use water wisely.

Inspired by the regenerative-soil movement, we bring that vision home: thoughtful soil assessment, organic plant care, mulch and compost where appropriate, water-wise irrigation, and planting that supports people and local ecology. No miracle cures. No one-size-fits-all fertilizer schedule. Just informed, patient stewardship.

Understand

Observe, sample and test before treating.

Restore

Build better conditions for roots, biology and water.

Regenerate

Support resilient landscapes through ongoing care.

Our promise: recommendations guided by evidence, appropriate organic practices, and respect for the land—not unnecessary inputs or exaggerated claims.

More than a service

A movement begins in your own backyard.

Every landscape is part of a larger living system. The soil beneath our homes supports roots, microorganisms, insects and the plants that shelter wildlife and nourish people. How we care for that ground matters.

You don't need a farm to practice thoughtful land stewardship. A small garden, a citrus tree, a hillside or an entire estate can be a place to begin. We help people replace guesswork with understanding, unnecessary inputs with considered care, and short-term fixes with long-term attention.

The land we care for today becomes the ground we leave for tomorrow.

Begin with a Soil Assessment → Learn about Living Soil →

When is a soil assessment useful?

  • Fruit trees or ornamentals have yellow leaves, slow growth or unexplained decline
  • Water pools, runs off, or doesn't soak in evenly
  • Clay or compacted soil makes planting difficult
  • You want a soil-first, pesticide-free landscape care strategy
  • New planting, orchard or garden renovation is planned

How it works

  1. Choose your assessment. Select a soil testing package and check out securely.
  2. We visit and sample. We coordinate the visit, examine relevant site conditions and collect the included samples.
  3. Get practical next steps. We interpret findings and recommend site-specific improvements where appropriate.
  4. Choose whether to proceed. Living Soil treatments, irrigation corrections and ongoing care are optional, separately quoted services.

Why test before treating?

Yellowing leaves, poor growth and drainage problems can have different causes. Soil testing helps avoid guessing at nutrients or adding amendments without evidence. It does not replace inspection of irrigation, roots or site drainage when those are the primary concern.

Professional analysis · Local expertise

Laboratory testing, translated into a practical plan

When laboratory testing is part of the agreed assessment, Earth People submits soil samples to an independent professional testing laboratory. We combine those findings with what we know about your plants, irrigation and growing conditions.

1. Understand the property

We review your landscape concerns and determine whether sampling or a site inspection is appropriate.

2. Analyze the soil

Samples are submitted to an independent laboratory for the testing selected in your approved scope.

3. Explain the findings

We review relevant results and explain their implications for the plants and site conditions.

4. Recommend next steps

You receive recommendations and, if useful, a separate quote for improvements or ongoing care.

The selected package defines the included sampling and testing scope; any additional testing or charges require approval. Laboratory analysis is performed by an independent provider; Earth People supplies the customer-facing assessment and recommendations.

Advanced plant diagnostics

Plant Sap & Nutrient Analysis

Sometimes the soil has nutrients, but your plants still struggle. Laboratory plant analysis can help assess nutrient status inside the plant, complementing soil test results and on-site observations.

Identify imbalances

Investigate possible nutrient deficiencies or excesses.

Support fruit trees

Assess nutrition when citrus, avocados or orchard trees underperform.

Guide treatment

Make more informed soil and foliar nutrition decisions.

Available as an optional diagnostic add-on. Plant species, sampling requirements, test suitability and pricing are confirmed before work begins. Testing does not replace evaluating irrigation, roots or pests.

A practical place to start

Not sure what's wrong with your soil?

That's what we're here to help you figure out. Most landscapes have more than one issue, and symptoms can be connected.

Common signs worth investigating

  • ✓ Yellowing or declining plants
  • ✓ Standing water or runoff
  • ✓ Dense, compacted clay soil
  • ✓ Fruit trees that aren't thriving
  • ✓ Uneven growth or poor vigor
  • ✓ Repeated fertilizer or watering problems

We look at the bigger picture—soil conditions, irrigation, plant health and site history—then recommend appropriate testing or inspection. Not every problem requires a laboratory test.

Two findings worth investigating

The example pH is above its comparison range and organic matter is below its comparison range. A site visit may reveal separate drainage or irrigation concerns.

Soil pH7.8

Organic matter1.2%

Below illustrative range

Illustrative comparison range: 3–6%

Example comparison band   Example result marker

Other observations Sample status Next step
Drainage Slow Evaluate infiltration and irrigation
Nutrients Not assessed Interpret a relevant laboratory panel
Soil biology Not tested Consider only if appropriate for the site

This sample is educational, not a diagnostic result. Comparison ranges are not universal targets; soil texture, plants, laboratory methods and local conditions change interpretation. We do not assign an arbitrary soil-health score.

Your assessment, explained in plain language

After the agreed testing and review, we'll explain findings, uncertainties and appropriate next steps. Optional soil treatments, irrigation work and maintenance are quoted separately.
