Cox's Orange Pippin Apple

Cox's Orange Pippin Apple — Specialty Orchard Tree

A richly aromatic heritage dessert apple with a complex sweet-tart flavor.

Can this grow in Orange County?

Higher winter-chill needs can make reliable production difficult in mild coastal Orange County. Our microclimate-based orchard planning considers winter chill, sun, summer temperatures and drainage; a variety may be growable without cropping reliably every year.

Pollination and fruiting

Generally needs an overlapping compatible apple pollinizer. Actual tree age, height, branching, fruiting condition and crop potential vary with nursery stock and training; details are checked before payment.

Planting and care

Plant in good drainage and a sunny location, with appropriate spacing, mulch, establishment irrigation and seasonal pruning. Dormant bare trees may arrive leafless. We can assist with design, irrigation, installation and continuing organic care.

How reservation works

Choose a container size to submit a reservation request. We verify stock, plant condition and shipping or delivery logistics before taking payment. Delivery and installation are additional.
