Hass is the classic Southern California avocado, known for rich, creamy fruit. It is an A-type flowering avocado and can benefit from a compatible B-type such as Fuerte nearby when site and space allow.

Site selection matters

Avocados are not a plant-it-anywhere tree. Earth People evaluates drainage, irrigation, wind and sun exposure, planting height and the surrounding root zone before installation. Poor drainage and inappropriate watering are common causes of decline.

Ongoing care can include soil-health building, organic nutrition, preventative organic IPM and regular irrigation inspections.
