Syrah Wine Grape — Wine Grape Vine
Deep-colored wine grape selected for warm-climate and Mediterranean vineyards.
Growing in Laguna Beach and South Orange County
Often benefits from a sunny exposed location but fruit quality still depends on irrigation and canopy control. Plant in well-drained soil with abundant light, and establish with deep, appropriate drip irrigation. Near the coast, fog and marine influence can affect ripening and fungal disease pressure; inland gardens may need more heat protection and water management.
Trellising, pruning and pollination
Provide a sturdy arbor or trellis before the vine becomes large. Grapevines generally have self-fertile flowers, so a second cultivar is usually unnecessary. Annual dormant pruning, summer canopy management, and monitoring for powdery mildew help maintain productive vines. Pruning method varies by cultivar and training system.
What to expect
Vine height, age, crop load, ripening season and seed characteristics depend on the named variety and actual nursery stock. Vines may be dormant and leafless in winter. We confirm available container sizes and plant condition before payment.
Reserve a grape vine
Our online order is a reservation request, not a guarantee of nursery stock. Delivery, trellising, planting, soil improvements and irrigation installation are priced separately.
